MEDARAM: Several devotees descended on Medaram, abode of Sammakka Saralamma jatara, on the second-day of the carnival.
The two-kilometre long road from Chilukalagutta was packed with people waiting for the arrival of goddess Sammakka.
Tribal priests arrived with goddess Sammakka at 7:30 pm.

Once the goddess is said to have taken over, he made his way with four other priests towards the altar at Medaram holding 'kukuma bharnam' in the casket.
Mulugu district superintendent of police Sangramsingh G Patil opened fire indicating that tribal priests arrived with goddess. Mulugu district collector S Krishna Aditya welcomed the goddess.
